Can't Wait

I've been so excited for Thanksgiving this year...I'm not sure why, probably that we are having it at home! I've also been craving pie..so I finally made some pumpkin pie! It turned out fantastic! The next pie I wanted to try to make is Apple Pie. Today I found a recipe that sounds really good thats carmel apple pie with pecans. I'm on the hunt for some other ones that I can make for Thanksgiving. I was thinking about a pudding pie, like a banana pie or something. If anyone knows of any good ones please let me know, so I can do a trial run before thanksgiving!

Happy Halloween

I love love Carving Pumpkins...here is what I came up with this year!

I really don't know how people make such elaborate designs in pumpkins. Its so hard to carve them, I guess I don't have the right pumpkin carving tools!

Don't worry about the birthday number candles, we couldn't find any tea lights and they were the cheapest thing. However, they only lasted 2 minutes..I guess thats long enough for somebody to light them and blow them out on a birthday cake!

I don't like dressing up so this year I didn't get any costumes. However, I got invited to a dance, so I had to race to Joanns and buy a cat mask. I of course didn't try it on before I bought it and it pulls at my eyes and is very uncomfortable. But good thing not a lot of people dressed up for the dance so I didn't have to wear it.

For the night before Halloween we went to my roommates dad mortuary. I went on a tour before and I wasn't scary. However, there wasn't a body there, but this time (of course the time we rent a scary movie) there was. It was really scary!! But the movie was lame, but it was still scary.

Today for Halloween we had a special stake conference, were it was all about...yup you guessed it marriage...however, it was a really good meeting about. A quote I loved from it was "come what may and love it!"

After church I made Roast dinner and I just barely made PUMPKIN PIE!! I haven't tasted it yet, it is supposed to cool for 2 hours, and it has only been 1. So I think that I will have to give in and eat some!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

October

I can't believe its almost November! I'm so excited for Thanksgiving...I've been craving pumpkin pie ever since they put out the fall stuff at my work. I'm on the countdown with how many days Jeffrey comes home (18) and how many weeks of school I have left (6). I am the worst at wanting school to be done, especially this semester, it has been the most work I have ever had to do. I 'm so bad that I have countdowns on all of my class calenders.
This month has all been about scary movies and haunted houses. My roommates are obsessed, so I of course are dragged along with them. We have currently been to a haunted house in Spanish Fork, a haunted house in AF (however, the house looks really cool and really old, with archways for the driveway and its all surrounded by trees. I really want to go look at the house in the day light when I can reallly see it), a graveyard in Alpine, and tibble fork canyon (where if you drive around 3 times a hurst is supposed to follow you). Its all pretty ridiculous, but I'm just along for the drive.
Nothing exciting has happened this month besides having my "surgury." I had to get a colonoscopy which was not fun at all...i had to take the "special juice" but it wasn't that bad. Don't worry I don't have anything wrong with me, and I lost a lot of weight (I probably have all gained it back, but it was exciting to be down to what I was when I was in middle school).
I'm just waiting for this semester to be over so I can start next semester and have a summer off. I'm planning a lot of fun and exciting things for summer. I wanted to go on a humanitarian trip and I had a friend that is planning one. However, it is going to cost 1400...so thats out of the picture! Anyways I have to go to class!!

What I've been Missing!!

Everytime my dad and brothers go to Ogden to visit my grandma they always have to go to Smith and Edwards!

I swear I have been there once, but I have never thought it would be so great!! If you have ever drove past it, it is just junk!!! piles and piles of junk!!! So I always thought it was just junk!! It has everything, clothes, food, sailor uniforms!! I have been looking for rainboots for forever, and I can't find any I like. What do you know, I found them at Smith and Edwards...Looks like I'll be going back with my dad next time!!

Anyways now about our annual trip to Midway! Every year my dad has conferences in Midway and I look forward to it every year! However, this year we stayed at the Zermott...it was cool, but it was way too much for me! We usually stay at the Homestead, its relaxed and it always feels like there isn't much people there, their rooms are homier, the pool is a huge hot tube, I just love it so much better. The Zermott was SO busy!! Their rooms are nice, but it just feels like another hotel, the pool was cool and it had a huge waterfall, but it was cold! I just didn't love it...next year we are definately going back to the homestead!

Saturday we did our usual, woke up, at breakfast ate the homestead, and headed off shopping. After shopping my mom went and got my dad and we headed to the alpine slides. It was 2 years when we last went on the slides (with Jeffrey). Anyways, Jerika, Andy, Dad and I went down the slides and Mom, Dad, Jerika, and I headed off to Ogden.

We first had to stop and do a shady deal in the parking lot of Home Depot in Salt Lake. I suggested that we stop at DSW! My dad didn't know what that was, but I told him it was his wildest dreams come true and he would love it. So while my mom and I were in Home Depot my dad told Jerika to look it up. Ha ha I loved it!! So we got directions and went to DSW. . When we got off the exit, my mom said that we better tell him. He thought it was like Smith and Edwards...ha ha but he soon found out that it was a shoes store...but he didn't care, He would do anything for his Favorite Daughter (ME). After that we headed to Smith and Edwards and off to grandmas house.

At grandmas house it was fun to sit and visit, we rented a movie while we were getting gas and watched that! We headed home sunday, dad and mom drove us around showing us where they used to live and pointed out cool places. We were really trying to find apartments for Jeffrey. Anyways if you ever are driving down washington blvd (i think) and want too look at cool houses go to Eccles street. There is a block of houses that so pretty, my dad said that when he was growing up that was the rich block. I told him that if he wanted to live in Ogden he would have to buy me a house on that street. It was cool to be able to see the places where my parents first lived, the apartment my mom lived in during college, my parents first house they lived in, (basement aparment), another apartment where my parents and two older sisters lived in, the church where jamie was blessed, the house where my great grandparents lived and where my grandparents were married, were my dad played when he was little, where my grandma went to high school, and where my parents went to college. . . so many memories in one town!! What a great weekend!!!

Donations

I am currently seeking donations so I can have this little cutie (lily) come live at my apartment. Isn't she so cute!! I want her so bad!! However, I have currently found out that it costs more for a human to live at my apartment complex than it does a pet!! I'm not very happy about that, but I love where I live. So that is why I'm seeking donations!!

Here is our other puppy that our dog Gracie had. His name is Homer and he is going to Jaliz and Andy's home so Pax can have someone to tourture...ha ha just kidding..He's so cute though! Wouldn't it be so fun every time I go babysit brother and sister could get together and play!! I think so!!
P.S. I don't want to post how much it will cost, because I know I don't have that kindof money. I also don't want my mom to know, because she will for sure not let me have her. Too bad it isn't tax season so I could have paid for her with my taxes!!

Week 4

Only 4 more days until my birthday....i feel so old!! I'm excited, because I'll be in Richfield for my birthday and I'm super excited. Specially since my nephews and neice will be there to throw me a party (hint hint jamie)!!

Anyways here goes my list...its hard to remeber what I put and I've already started my post so I don't want to go back.

  • I love learning about history. Even though I haven't taken a history class since high school I love learning about things in the past. Today I enrolled in the institute and got into a church history class. I learned so much today, like the greatest missionary, Dan Jones, who baptised over 3,000 people in Wales is buried in the Provo Cemetary. I know what the next adventure is going to be! And the guy who was the architect (I can't remember his name) that worked on the Kirkland Temple, Navuoo Temple and Saint George Temple is buried in Scipio! Isn't that cool!
  • I really do like going to school; however, I can't wait to graduate and get a "real" job! It really scares me though, because I don't know what exactly I want to do. I really want to work as a secretary in a dentist or doctors office. Maybe by the time I graduate I can be a secretary in my dads office...that would be nice. I would have to be married first, because (no offense) there isn't much of a selection in Richfield!
  • I love watching scary movies. . . I usually cover my face for the scary parts, but I still love a scary movie now and then.
  • I don't like entertaining people, but I do love to have people over for food. As long as I don't have to find something for them to do I love it!
  • I'm a closet dancer...ha ha just kidding, but I love going to dances! I miss snow so much for their dances. I want to take a dance class sometime, maybe when I don't have so many classes. They have a hip hop dance class at school...I just have to find somebody to take it with me!

Ward Campout & Sliding Rock

Last weekend was our ward campout. I was so excited to go, but it rained that day. However, we still slept over. We went up to Mutal Dell camp ground in AF canyon. Only kenzie and I stayed over, we moved the tables in the pavillion and set up our tent. It was perfect!
It was so comfy in our tent!!

It was also scary, because there are signs everywhere that says bear country!! Somebody also told me that a little boy was killed in that canyon by a bear a couple of years ago. I was scared, so I made sure to sleep in the middle!!

On Saturday we went on an adventure. We started out stopping at a persons backyard that had a lot of exotic birds. Then we went to a yard sale. Drove up and went to sliding rock. Sliding rock is a waterfall that you can slide down. I was really nervous to go, because it looked like it hurt a lot. Don't worry I faced my nervousness and went. It was really fun! Here are some pictures from that!! Kenzie and MeThe top of the waterfall. No this isn't sliding rock, it is just a little place that is above it. It was really pretty.

Here is who all went!!
The Girls!!
Me sliding down the rock. Yes I had to hold my nose and it was so so cold!!!

Girls Night!!

We always try to have girls night in our apartment, we usually go to dinner, but we decided to change it up. Two of my roommates do hair and went through hair school, so we decided to have a spa night. We put face masks on!!

I love getting face masks on, so it was perfect!
Here we are except Cassidy (who was taking the picture)...next girls night is back massages!! Can't wait!!!

Week 3!!

I really don't know what to post about tonight, but I have nothing to do so I guess I will.

  • I love watching reality T.V. shows, I'm currently watching BBQ pitmasters. Some of my favorites are; Duggars, cake challenge...ok any shows on TLC!
  • I cry in about any movie I watch! It usually has to be a new movie that I haven't seen or a movie that I haven't seen in a while. Sometimes, I want to watch a sad movie so I can cry, because it usually has a happy ending.
  • I love watching movies; however, I don't like watching movies that I have already seen unless they are really good like the Jane Austen movies. My favorite Jane Austen movie is persuasion.
  • I love reading. (not sure if I said this one yet) I love reading series, I recently read the series from the Book of Mormon, they are Ammon, Abish, Alma, and Alma the Younger. I loved loved reading these. I went back and read the chapters in the Book of Mormon about them and it helped me understand them a lot more. I also love the dress books. I could spend a lot of money on books, but I'm just glad that my mom and sisters love reading also so they can buy them.
  • Man I can't really think of another thing! oh...I love love cheeseburgers, specially from the little ma and pa diners that are cooked fresh and hot with lettuce, onions and fry sauce...umm...thats making me hungary, I guess I better go eat a cookie!!

Puppies

My dog Gracie had puppies last week and I was able to come home and visit them. She had three, but one was sick and died.

The fat one that has more brown is Homer and the little one is lilly. They are so cute and look like little rats. My sister that I tend for is going to keep one, so that will satisfy my need for a puppy. I want one so bad, but I know it will be hard since I work and go to school. Plus I live at an apartment complex so there isn't anywhere for it to run around without being on a lease. . . Another reason to get a house!!

LAGOON!!!

My brother-in-law and sister invited Jerika and I to go to lagoon with them. It was way fun. We stood in line, rode rides and stood in lines again. After dinner we met up with the Reds and the first ride we went with them was Rattle Snake Rapids. I didn't want to get too wet, but Jerika and I were the ones who got soaked!!

This is the crew- minus pax who went on the rapids. Notice that jerika and I are soaked and the rest just got wet. Jerika and I, shivering cold.

Us Getting ready to ride the Carousel.
Jer and I ridinging the train. This was so fun and I haven't rode the train forever, but there were a lot of animals. However, it was very hot so most of them were sleeping!!

Finished

My sister's sister-in-law wanted purses made for her daughters. I think they turned out pretty cute. One is for a dance bag and the other is for a laptop bag.

Week 2!!

I need to take a break studying so I decided to hurry and do my week 2 of things about me. Ok so I haven't even started studying. Anyways WEEK 2:

  • I love interior design, I think I have taken all the classes I can take in the 2 different colleges I have been too. Ok so thats only 4 classes, but I love it. I considered it for a career choice, but I figured I wouldn't enjoy it as much if I had to do somebody elses style.
  • I love architecture, and the different details on buildings. This picture is when we went to salt lake, it is doors on a bank. I love old arcitecture, when they would put in so much detail into a building.
  • I love driving around and looking at different houses. I've always wanted to go to the parade of homes, but still haven't.
  • A little stalkerish secret, when peoples windows are open to like their front room, when I'm driving by I like to look in and see how they decorate...not creepy sort of way, but thats how much I love interior design.
  • I want a house so so so so bad, so I can paint, put in tile, knock down walls, and decorate how I want without having to worry about fixing it when I move out. I really hope whoever I marry will let me do whatever I want to the house!

8-9-10 11:12

For 8-9-10 and at 11:12, we went up the canyon to squaw peak and look out over the valley. We celebrated by taking a picture!
Me, Kallie, Jerry, Kenzie
Exciting huh!

ZOMBIES!!

On Sunday we went up to Salt Lake for the Zombie Walk.. Sounds a little weird huh. Well it was! I was a little nervous to go, because they told us that the zombies chase you and you have to climb up trees. If you know me I don't like to climb things.

The zombie walk is just a bunch of people dress up like zombies and walk around Salt Lake. There are some crazy people, but it was really funny.

Some of the people we went with ran, but I just stayed put and laughed at all the weird people that were dress up, walked like, and groaned like zombies.

Some even climbed tees and the zombies tried to get to them. Some of the more dedicated zombies attacked people and "ate them."

It was quite entertaining, and who would have thought that Utah would have something like this!

A New Addition

I forgot to blog about my shoes I got the other day, and since my sister blogged about her new shoes I had to too. Our family discovered a new store, thanks to my sister Jamie that we go to a lot. ROSS!! We love Ross and I especially love their shoe selection. I have gotten a pair of high heels, 2 pair of boots, and these babies for only 12.99 might I add!!! I love it, however, somedays are not so good, but I still love it!

1 Month!!

I realized at work today that its only 1 MONTH till my BIRTHDAY!! I'm getting so old....23 in one month!! I just read my friends blog and she posted some stuff about her. So, I decided that every week till my birthday I will post 5 things about me. A long time ago my sisters and I made a list of 100 things about us. So I thought this would be interesting to see what has changed and what has stayed the same.

  • I love love my family and even though I am an adult and only live 2 hours from my parents and 20 minutes from my sister I still get a little homesick. I always get homesick when I'm talking to my mom, sisters, or neices and nephews. That is why I will probably always live in Utah!
  • I love love doing crafts. I could sit and do different crafts all day. Here is what I have done, quilting, sewing (I have been making purses and recently my roommate and I have made skirts. Which my mother would always say to us when we were buying clothes that she could make that, and after working at JoAnns I have realized that a lot of people make clothes and its not that hard). I have also scrapbooked, decorated, refinished, and a bunch of different stuff. I still want to learn how to reupholster, which my mother knows how to do so I will have to take lessons.
  • I have to drink hot chocolate at least once a day. Durning the school year I only drink hot chocolate for breakfast every morning.
  • I love cake decorating shows, and I want to take a cake decorating class so so bad! (i'm currently watching DC Cupcakes as I am typing this)
  • I love reading, I especially love reading series. I could sit and read all day...ha ha well sometimes I do when I get really into the book.

Hopefully I'll remember to do this everyweek, since I'm not very good at blogging!

Love Them!!

Here are my favorite people in the world!! (well and my family also of course)
I love my nephews and nieces so much. They are so funny and they each have their different personalities that I love...I just had to blog about how much I love them, because I just got off the phone with Ofeina and she is so funny to talk to!!

A side note...school starts in less then a month and I'm getting very nervous because I'm going to be taking 18 credits!!! Pray for me and wish me luck..cause I'll need it!!

Purses

I've been wanting to start making purses and selling them. Of course while I'm at work at Joann's I always see cute fabric that would look cute as purses. So, I've started my collection of patterns and fabric.

Here are the first ones that I have completed. If you like them and want to buy any just email me at phatfarm_2006@hotmail.com or just leave me a comment on my blog. I'm going to be selling them for $30.00 each.

This is my experiment so hopefully it will go good and I can start making more. I have different patterns and fabric that will be made into purses that I can hopefully get done soon.

Sorry the pictures aren't very good. I am going to take them home and have my sister take some cute pictures of them when I can get them all done.

Movie Night!

Today I've been really sore from camping and I really wanted to get some of my purses done so I've been locked up in my apartment all day. I didn't even know it rained today until I had to open the door for someone and smelled the rain. (pathetic) Anyways I have 1 1/2 purses done. Anyways tonight we went to the movie, How To Train Your Dragon. I know I'm a little behind, but I'm cheap so we went to the dollar theater. They were even having a special with groups being only .75 cents. The movie was so cute and funny. If you haven't seen it you'll have to rent it. (aren't I getting good at blogging 2 days in a row!!) I'm going to work on purses all day tomorrow so hopefully I'll get done soon. Then I can post pictures and you can buy!!!

We Are Family!!

Its time again for our Meyer Family Reunion. So Friday we packed up and headed to Blanding. This year we were going camping and I was so excited, because we usually just set up tents in my grandma's yard. We got there ate and had a little program. It was fun this year because every family got a turn to talk about their family and what was going on in their lives. It was fun to hear all about everybody, since we have such a big family its hard to keep track sometimes.

Here is my Grandma and my Mom
Saturday was the fun day with all the activities planned. We got up bright and early, ate breakfast and headed up to the cabin. It is a really old cabin that we like to go up to. The last time we were there it was about 10 years ago and we got pictures taken in front of the cabin so we decided to do that again this year.
This is our large Happy Family!!
After the billions of pictures we had to take, those who wanted to hiked up to the waterfall. I remebered years back when we went that it was a steep climb so I opted to stay with the ones who didn't want to go.
Me and my lovely sisters
(Don't let it fool you this was the first day, thats why we look half decent)
When everybody got back we went back to camp, ate lunch, and headed off to dry wash. This year we rented kyaks and canoes, and they had a dock there that we could jump off of. It was so much fun, and I love when we get to go swimming with everyone. It started to rain on us so we ran to the cars and went back to camp.
My cute Grandpa and his dog Lady
We ate dinner and had another program. This time we had a testimony meeting. I think this is the first year we have had one and it was so good. Only a couple of people shared their testimonies, but the spirit was so strong. After that we sat around the campfire telling jokes and talking.
Jamie and I
(another first day)
By the time it was time to go home I didn't care how
I looked so I'm glad I don't have any pictures of that!!
I love our family reunions and family get togethers. I love my family and am so proud of the heritage that we have. Thanks to everyone who put it together, and who went. Hopefully those who didn't make it can definately make it next year. I'll be praying that its another campout, because those are the funnest of all!!

Starting Fresh!

I haven't blog for a long time because, #1-I was going to start again after my apartment was decorated and then #2- When I got my purses done so I could sell them. Don't worry I am still going to post about these things, but currently our apartment is dirty and I have only finished 1/2 a purse!

Since I haven't blogged for a long time, I'll let you know whats been going on in my life! I am going to school, working, and doing homework. I am going to summer school which is done in 3 weeks. I am still working at my favorite place, and hopefully will someday own my own fabric store. I'm still working on my dad buying a fabric store for me when I graduate. (Hopefully in a year!).

I love who I live with and finally have an apartment that feels like home (pictures soon). I love love decorating, and my sisters and mother have gotten into taking D.I. furniture (which is cheap) and making it so cute!

I love my life...and don't worry I'll try to post a new post at least once a week! Here are some things to look forward to, purses, apartment, and FAMILY REUNION!

Finally did something exciting!

This past weekend I finally got out of town and went to St. George! I was so excited to go to the warm, but it the wind was blowing so it was a little chilly. We went down to get away and there was a rugby tournament. So any excuse we could get to get out of town we jumped on it!
We headed out friday after work and school and had a fun road trip listening to music and singing. We got to our hotel and dealt with the rude manager, but we finally got things figured out and went to the dollar theater with some of mandy's friends and watched Armored. It was a good short movie (only an hour). On saturday we got up and tried to find the rugby games. It was so frustrating, becuase of course Jerika was trying to explain how to get there. We finally put it into gps and got there.

We watched some games then headed out for lunch. Of course whenever i go to St. George I have to go to Mongolian BBQ (if thats how you spell it). I love it and wish I could go everyday. I am going to have to find a good one up here so i can go more often. We went to watch some softball games that mandy wanted to watch and then we went to the temple. I have never been up close to the temple and it was huge. It seemed so white up close, but it was so pretty. After that we headed home. It was a good weekend, but it was too short. Sorry the pictures are so small. It's probably because I copied them from facebook!

I Love Decorating!!

I have been blog stalking while my roommate watches Desprate House Wives and I want a HOUSE!! I love looking at different craft blogs and love all the of the decorations that are on them! I want a house so I can decorate it and give it my style instead of an apartment that i have to worry about what my roommates want. I want to paint and give it my style! I have always loved interior design and love the classes that I am taking right now about design. However, i have opted out of majoring in it and have decided to just do it for myself and my family. I LOVE DECORATING AND BEING CRAFTY!! Here is my favorite decorating blog!
